JS Anand

A natural leader with a highly successful track record, JS has over 26 years of experience in the E&P industry. He co-founded EnQuest with a vision to deliver world class project management services to the E&P companies.

Prior to turning an entrepreneur, JS was the CEO of Jubilant Energy where he was instrumental in building an attractive asset portfolio, trebling the production of the company & along with partners made the major KG gas discovery. During his brief stint of 18 months, Jubilant saw meteoric rise in its valuation. Prior to taking up the assignment with Jubilant, JS was Cairn Energy’s Asset Manager of its Rajasthan asset and gave India its largest onshore oil discoveries (Mangla, Aishwarya & Bhagyam) in 2004. It was because of his entrepreneurial and drilling project management skills that JS was instrumental in various successful exploration/development campaigns for Cairn Energy in India.

Sanjeev Mittal

Sanjeev Mittal holds a Bachelor in Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, a Master of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, State College, USA and has a Gold Medal from IMI, New Delhi in their PGDBM program. He also holds a US Patent for his research at Baroid Corporation, USA while working for Sperry Sun (a subsidiary of Bariod) from 1987-90. In addition to co-founding EnQuest, Sanjeev has built a very successful business for providing G&G consulting services along with high end technology solutions to E&P companies in India and overseas. He brings valuable expertise to the company through his vast experience of managing diverse projects.

Anthony (Tony) Beckett

With a PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Tony has over 40 years experience in the drilling business having worked with most majors and independents across the globe. He was one of the pioneers of the industry to plan and drill the horizontal ERD wells in the 1980s. After various assignments with Amoco in US, UK, Netherlands, Spain and Norway, supervising land, semi-submersible and jack-up rigs, he became an independent consultant in late 1987 and has since then consulted with Marathon & BG for their onshore & offshore (including deepwater) campaigns in various parts of the world which included Tunisia, Philippines, Australia, North Sea, Rocky Mountains, Pakistan & the Mediterranean. He has also managed Cairn’s Indian drilling operations in Ravva, KG shallow water, KG deepwater, Cambay and early exploration in Rajasthan. Following this, he worked with Transocean/ONGC on their initial deepwater exploration campaign.

Co-founder of Antira Engineering Ltd along with EnQuest, Tony has been instrumental in project managing various drilling projects both onshore & offshore (including deepwater) for various companies besides conducting special studies and organizing training schools, writing area specific drilling operations manual, design and management of kill operations on geothermal underground blow-out.

MP Pant

A professional engineer with nearly 30 years of experience in the industry, MP Pant has experience of operating and managing several onshore & offshore (including deepwater) drilling projects.

Having worked on the drilling rigs, both onshore & offshore, during his first half of the career rising to the level of OIM he moved over to Schlumberger as their IPM supervisor for a 3 year development campaign for a client off the east coast of India. Subsequent to this project he took up an assignment with Cairn Energy as a Drilling Superintendent where he was responsible for managing 3-5 simultaneous rig operations after which he worked with Shell where he spent 3 years on their HPHT well operations in Oman.

Mr. Pant has been with EnQuest right from its inception and has directly managed most of the projects executed this far. As Vice President of Operations, besides managing the drilling team, Mr. Pant is also responsible for developing the company’s policies and procedures for successful delivery of these projects.

John Richard Crewe

A very experienced drilling professional with 46 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, Richard’s technical skills include, but not limited to, managing drilling operations on all rig types, directional drilling and SIMOPS. He obtained his degree as a Mechanical Engineer/Petroleum Studies form Rice Institute, Houston and started his career with Dowell Schlumberger as a directional driller and drilled directional wells worldwide: Abu Dhabi (Upper Zakum), Nigeria, Gabon, Congo, Indonesia, France, British North Sea, Algeria, Iran. Since 1982, as a consultant drilling engineer/superintendent, he has managed drilling campaigns for various clients in Libya, Sonatrach- Algeria, Nigeria, Shell-Russia & BG-Pakistan. Thereafter he managed Lasmo’s Libya business as their Vice President.

Since 2002 Richard has been consulting with various clients in senior positions till he moved to Antira, a subsidiary of EnQuest, in 2011 and has since been managing the company’s business interests in Cairo, Egypt where he has planned and executed a 5 well deepwater (800m - 1500m water depth), 3 well remote onshore campaign and planning of another 2 deepwell campaign.

Dr. VK Kaul

Doctoral research in ultrasonic and over 2 decades of experience in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, New Delhi, and Directorate general of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and natural Gas, Govt. of India, New Delhi in the field of seismic data acquisition and data processing (PSTM, PSDM & AVO).

At DGH he processed /reprocessed onshore and off-shore 2D seismic data, reprocessed/ special processing of existing seismic data for value addition of PSC blocks for the bidding purposes, was involved in the quality control of on shore and off shore seismic data. He has conducted PSTM and Pre SDM processing of 2D & 3D seismic data of various basins of India, both onshore and offshore, Australia, Georgia and Afghanistan.

Dr. SK Jain

Dr. Jain, a postgraduate with a Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Physics, worked with Oil & Natural Gas Corporation for 30 years prior to joining us in 2011. Dr. Jain has more than 30 years experience in the industry out of which more than 15 years has been in the area of integrated interpretation using seismic, petrophysical and reservoir data. He also has extensive experience in seismic data acquisition. With several publications to his credit, Dr. Jain has extensive hands on experience in interpretation of data from various basins. Past projects include carrying out integrated interpretation of geoscientific data for various exploratory acreage resulting in release of several exploratory locations many of which were found to be hydrocarbon bearing.

SP Kumar

Post Graduate in Geology from IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Kumar held the post of GM (Exploration) in ONGC before taking up the challenge as an independent consultant, having more than 35 years of experience in almost all aspects of petroleum geology. He has worked on projects as consultant geologist for many national and international oil companies. His vast experience includes field geological mapping, exploration and development activities including well sitting, seismic interpretation, prospect generation, basin evaluation, planning and managing development and production activities in on land and offshore oil and gas fields, management of PSA’s etc.

He also worked as a faculty with University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and worked in fields of petroleum economics, exploration risks and investment decisions and has experience in all Indian sedimentary Basins, as well as other areas like Abu Dhabi, Yemen, Egypt, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Australia and Georgia.

His key skills include holistic interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data, 3D genetic modeling of hydrocarbon generation, migration and accumulations, geo-statistical methods and stratigraphic models, techno-economic analysis of exploration acreage and farm-in proposals under competitive bidding, interpretation of satellite gravity data over offshore areas.
